  25. I am trying to find out if there is a flow unit that would equal to one cubic foot per second. I know that the SI derived unit for volume flow rate, in Metric, is the cubic meter per second. And 1 cubic feet flow in second equals to 0.028316847 cubic meter per second or 0.03m3/s. Closest full 1 unit, not changed by division or by multiplying, that exists is the 1.70 cubic meter per minute or 1.7 m3/min.

  29. I’ve been working on my own under floor heating system in whole bottom floor. I am designing and building it totally from scratch. One aspect is I had to calculate flow units for a water transfer per 1 hour in the heating houses circling out-and-in from a main tank where a heating element is going be located. And with temperature readings I needed the variable for the liquid flow volume to calculate an exact size of the heating element to heat the water. With the tool the flow unit can easily be found and I think I can establish exactly, for various flows according our heating demand, how much electric power this heating system will consume.

  31. how to convert the flow conversion from kg/s to m3/hr

added by admin: The kilogram per second could be looked at as a flow unit too. However we would need to know a mass of the flowing matter. For example if the medium was water for instance. 1kg of water weights exactly 1000 milliliters or 1 liter therefore 1kg = 1L

The flow calculation formula would be:

    1L/hour convert to cubic meter/second

Flow of water : 1 liter per second (l/sec) = 3.6 cubic meters per hour (m3/hr or m3 per 3600 seconds)

    and

    1 (cubic metre) = 1000 litres x 3.6 m3 = 3600 liters

Flow unit 1 liter per 1 second equals 3600 liters per 1 hour precisely.

3000 l/min to l/s and m3/sec Flow units conversion results.

    Flow : 3000 liters / minute ( l/min ), Equals to flow of 50.00 liters per second ( l/sec ).

    Flow : 3,000 liters / minute ( 3K l/min ), Equals to flow : 0.05 cubic meter / second ( ~ 0.1 m³/sec ). Fraction flow conversion : 1/20 cubic meter per second ( ~ 1/10 m3/sec ).

  40. I want to convert a Gas flow in Standard cubic meter/minutes (Sm3/min) to Normal cubic meter/minutes (Nm3/min) and and Actual cubic meter/minutes (Am3/min).

    Comment from/about : Altin

  41. Hi Altin,
Flow of which gas? A flow of gas should be a very basic calculation. It will go under a physical or chemistry gas laws.

Here is a hint; Nm3 means a volume of the gas filled at 0 degree temperature and common 14.7 psia pressure. (maybe also gauge pressure with g – psig) The psia refers to the standard atmospheric pressure. Am3 represents a gas volume at functioning condition.

So for the gas flow conversion use mathematical formula:
    (P1 x V1) / T1 = (P2 x V2) / T2

    But double check it.
