  1. I made muffins but needed to substitute buttermilk with something appropriate and also low fat. Just to let you know that I used these substitute for low fat buttermilk directions. First I poured 1 cup of lite milk into a glass, then added 1 teaspoon of lemon juice and also 1 teaspoon of vinegar.
